Girl Winter Film Tour

Join us for a night of women-centric short ski films!

You’ve heard of “Girl Dinner” – the perfectly chaotic spread of favorite snacks, little treats, and whatever sounds good at the moment. We wanted this film tour to carry that same energy: a lineup of short films with range. From big mountain skiing and storytelling to humor and human experiences, each film brings something different to the table–the kind of mix that leaves you fully satisfied by the end of the night.

Each event will showcase 5 films followed by a Q+A and poster signing with the athletes and filmmakers who brought the films to life. The event will run approximately two hours. Doors open at 6:30, with the event beginning at 7:30.

BISCUITS

Director: Colleen Gentemann

Synopsis:

‘Biscuits’ is a doc-style ski film that follows freeride skiers Nat Segal and Erin Spong over two seasons as they ski together across the stunning backcountry of British Columbia, in search of the elusive nuggets of pure joy we all seek in the mountains.

As their search begins to push their boundaries in the name of progression, both skiers must confront the personal monsters in order to continue moving forward. With help from one another, a willingness to push through discomfort, and a healthy sense of humor, Segal and Spong prove to themselves time and time again that the juice is always worth the squeeze.

Winter Elements is a story about the women of the ski industry and the essential roles they play in its overall success. Women are already making their mark, and it’s time to amplify their stories. Instead of solely featuring professional skiers, we’ll elevate the experiences of everyday working women in the ski industry, putting them on the same pedestal as elite athletes.

VIVID

Synopsis:

VIVID opens like every ski film you've seen before. Hard-charging athletes, helicopters, epic drone shots, confidence, control - exactly what you expect.

Then, at the bottom of the first line, the women (yes, women) high-five. This isn't that kind of ski film. And thank god for that.

VIVID isn't the film you think it is. It borrows the visual language of a genre built on ego and spectacle, then quietly, gleefully subverts it from the inside out. What looks like a team trip of elite skiers becomes something else entirely.

VIVID takes the familiar shape of a ski film and fills it with what the genre rarely shows: joy, connection, and the vividness that comes from being fully yourself, quirks and all, alongside people who actually see you, not just your skiing.

THEORY OF BUTTER

Synopsis:

Two rambunctious gals known as the Butta Dawgs set out on a backcountry quest with one goal in mind: to find the ‘Butta’, the source of eternal fame, power, and glorious steeze.

Carried by bikes, rafts, skis, and grit, their search for the ‘Butta’ in the depths of the San Juan Mountains will help them discover the true spirit of adventure.

Rapid Fire follows Mali Noyes’ 47-day push to ski all 93 lines of Utah’s Chuting Gallery—Andrew McLean’s iconic guide to steep skiing in the Wasatch Range. In setting a new speed record, the project evolves beyond a pursuit of skiing into a story about risk, cumulative fatigue, and the community that makes ambitious endeavors possible.
