About this service

SHLCs are staffed with employees and volunteers trained to assist you through the provision of legal information regarding your case. Interactions with SHLC staff do not establish an attorney-client relationship or any legally defined right-to-privacy on behalf of the customer.

The Court Help Program cannot give you legal advice or represent you in court. The goal of the program is to provide the information you need to understand your legal rights and responsibilities and to help you resolve legal problems on your own. Self Help Law Centers are located throughout the state to provide you with information and direct you to resources that will help you help yourself.

How to get help

NOTE: If you need a parenting plan as a part of your dissolution (divorce), refer to the Ending Your Marriage page. If you are unsure which process applies to your situation, link to our QUESTIONNAIRE for additional guidance.
