About this service
EPSDT is the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment portion of Medicaid's comprehensive healthcare coverage for children. It is available for all children in Medicaid from birth through age 20.
Regular check-ups help make sure the child is growing well and staying healthy. It is important to find and treat problems early to ameliorate (make something better) any health issues before they become serious.
How to get help
Prior authorization for EPSDT services should be submitted by a child’s primary care provider or medical specialist within their scope of practice, when additional treatment, services, or supplies are needed for a primary health condition.
