About this service

Trotting Horse Therapeutic Riding is dedicated to providing equine facilitated therapy and accessible outdoor recreation to Montanans in need.

We offer both mounted and unmounted equine activities, as well as beginner riding lessons based in practical horsemanship. Due to the age and size of our horses, we have a 220 lb weight limit for mounted activities.

How to get help

Clients are required to be enrolled in the BIG SKY WAIVER program, and have a caseworker with the ability to provide a Prior Authorization Referral for services.

Who qualifies

Medicaid covers therapeutic riding in Montana if the client has the BIG SKY WAIVER under Community & Home Based Services.
