This trailhead provides access to the short Surveyor Lake Trail #117. This trail is only 1/2 mile and takes visitors directly to a scenic lake nestled among the peaks of the Great Burn area. Spend the day fishing or floating on the lake, this area provides excellent opportunities for solitude.

- From I-90 exit 66, head south on Fish Creek Road #343. Stay on Road #343 for 16.7 miles. Turn right on Surveyor Creek Road #7734 for 8.7 miles. Trailhead is located just before the road re-crosses Surveyor Creek after the last tight switchback. Parking on the left in a large pull-out, trail begins on the right.

- There is a steep climb from the road at the beginning of the trail, but the rest of the trail is more gentle.
