About this place

Thirty miles east of Missoula, the Rock Creek Recreation Area provides visitors with opportunities for developed camping, fishing, wildlife viewing, and access to the 28,000-acre Welcome Creek Wilderness.

Arrival
20 miles east of Missoula on Interstate 90, take Rock Creek exit #126 onto Rock Creek road. Drive 11.5 miles south along Rock Creek Road #102, then 1 mile east on Ranch Creek Road. Trailers, motorhomes and tow vehicles not recommended due to the narrow and rough road.

Limit 2 vehicles per site.
Fees
Overnight Use: Single Site: $15 per night (2 vehicle limit per site)

May 22, 2026- mid-September. Open 24 hours/day. Closes on Monday, 9/28/2026.
Dogs
Must be physically restrained on a 6 foot leash.
Use rules
Campsites are first-come, first-serve. Horse/Pack animals are not allowed at this site. Trailers, motorhomes and tow vehicles not recommended due to the narrow and rough road.
