Savenac East Cottage

Located on the grounds of the historic Savenac Tree Nursery, the cottage was built in 1938 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and has amenities such as electricity and running water.

About this place

The Savenac compound includes a visitor center that is operated from May through September. Located on the compound are memorials, and interpretive trails with plenty of room to roam. Beautiful Savenac Creek runs through the compound. In winter, groomed snowmobile trails are available in the area and opportunities abound for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Arrival
The Savenac compound is located 90 miles west of Missoula, Montana on Interstate 90. Take Haugan exit #16. Compound is well signed and entrance is visible. Located North of Interstate 90 located adjacent to the 50,000 Silver Dollar Inn and Bar.
Parking
Parking limited, two standard vehicles only.
Hours
April- October 7, 2026, dates vary. Arrival is no earlier than 2:00pm. Departure is no later than 11:00am.
Dogs
Pets must be on leash in the main compound and not allowed in building.
