About this place
Later in the summer and into the fall, the valley's grassy bottom is a beautiful golden-brown and Rock Creek is more visible, seeming to sparkle due to the contrast in colors. Babcock Mountain in Rock Creek is an excellent place to see bighorn sheep.

- 20 miles east of Missoula on Interstate 90, take Rock Creek exit #126. Drive south for 5 miles along the Rock Creek Road. Trailers, motorhomes and tow vehicles not recommended due to the narrow and rough road. Drive about 2.5 miles south until you see a hiking symbol sign on the right side of the road.
