Ninemile Remount Depot and Historic Ranger Station

This historic site has a visitor center and self-guided tour where you can learn about the Ninemile Remount Depot which provided experienced packers and their animals for fighting fires and for backcountry work projects since the 1930s.

Arrival
From Interstate 90, take exit #82 at Ninemile. Turn right, go up the hill for 2 miles. At the intersection with Remount Road, turn right for 2.5 miles to the ranger station. The way is signed to and from the interstate to the ranger station.
Hours
Open year-round. Visitor Center is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Memorial Day- Labor Day.
