Savenac Historic Tree Nursery Area
Savenac Historic Tree Nursery, eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, is one of the oldest, largest and most beautiful Forest Service tree nurseries in the West. We invite you to stop in at the visitor center, rent one of the cabins, or walk around the arboretum.

About this place
Located on the CCC-improved compound are memorials to firefighters lost in the Big Burn of 1910 and interpretive trails with plenty of room to roam. Beautiful Savenac Creek runs through the compound. In winter, groomed snowmobile trails are available in the area and opportunities abound for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

- The Savenac compound is located 90 miles west of Missoula, Montana on Interstate 90. Take Haugan exit #16. Compound is well signed and entrance is visible. Located North of Interstate 90 located adjacent to the 50,000 Silver Dollar Inn and Bar.

- Parking is in front of the Visitor Center.

- Must be physically restrained on a 6 foot leash.
